Wondery is launching its new true crime anthology podcast series Happily Never After with the inaugural season, Happily Never After: Dan & Nancy.
Each season of the podcast will feature real-life bad romance stories of love gone awry and the unbelievable aftermath.
Happily Never After: Dan & Nancy features writer Nancy Brophy, who fills her novels with romantic betrayals and murder.
It’s a far cry from her quiet life in the Portland suburbs, where she and her chef husband, Dan, are living out their golden years.
When Dan is shot dead, Nancy finds herself at the centre of a murder case that could be ripped from the pages of her novels. Were the police confusing Nancy’s novels with reality, or could they see something that her friends, family and community couldn’t?
The series is hosted by fellow novelist Heidi Thretheway, who was a member of Nancy’s writing club and brings her first-hand knowledge and insights to the twisted tale. The series also features reenacted scenes and original audio clips from the police investigation.
Happily Never After: Dan & Nancy will be available on Wondery+ on 6 May and all other podcast platforms from 3 June.
