Q15:45Jackie Khalilieh on her YA novel Something More

Jackie Khalilieh was diagnosed with autism as an adult, which — among other things — led her to look back at her teen years with a new perspective. Now, she’s written her first YA book, titled Something More.

It’s a contemporary teen romance novel about a Palestinian Canadian girl trying to hide her autism diagnosis while navigating her first year of high school. Khalilieh joined Q guest host Vivek Shraya to tell us how her own experience inspired the story.

The full interview with Jackie Khalilieh is available on our podcast, Q with Tom Power. Listen and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
