Tony Pankhurst, the UK actor perhaps best known for lending his likeness to The Curator in Supermassive Games’ The Dark Pictures Anthology, has passed away.
Spotted by GameSpot, Supermassive posted a short tribute to the actor on X. The actor had a career spanning over 40 years, working as a radio presenter, running his own business, and making numerous appearances on TV and in films like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
However, our audience will probably know Pankhurst best because of his iconic portrayal of The Curator. A recurring, unsettling being who appears in each entry of The Dark Pictures (Man of Medan, Little Hope, House of Ashes, The Devil in Me), the Curator is a mesmerising character who links the series together through a recurring series of Crypt Keeper-like interstitials.
Our condolences to the actor’s friends, family and fans. Are you a fan of Pankhurst’s work? Is there a specific role that comes to mind? Let us know in the comments section below.
